With our commercial trucking fleet we haul a variety of heavy equipment, bulk grain and fertilizer. We currently do work for different equipment dealerships, construction contractors, farmer cooperatives, and private parties.
Agronomic Practices

We utilize the latest technology throughout our operation. We use it to apply the exact amount of fertilizer, seed, and herbicide precisely where it's needed. This ensures limited waste. Minimal fertilizer waste helps with eliminate runoff into the steams and groundwater which safeguards against contamination of area wildlife habitats.
Soil Health
At Rix Farms we know that the needs of each field differ. We don't use the same approach on every field. We sample and test our own soil, so we know exactly what's going on in our fields. We also use cover crops to help aid in moisture management and to increase organic matter and microbial activity.
Our expertise in plant science as well as working with some of the best soil scientists in the country helps us to maximize productivity while maintaining optimum health of the operation.
We incorporate no-till and minimal till practices which help conserve water, reduce erosion, and slows the release of carbon.
Research & Development
We work with different seed companies and universities with their R&D efforts learning best practices and applications. We manage our own test plots and share our data which is then used by researchers for best use applications.
Different equipment companies work with our operation to test new products. We provide feedback to help these companies understand what works, what doesn't, and what real world applications they work best in.
Sustainability
Everything we do on our farm is done with the future in mind. Our application of technology, soil conservation practices, and continual improvement is meant to ensure we steward the land properly for the next generation.
Our farm has been operating for over 100 years and we intend to be here in another 100.
